WEBThe 2023-24 Budget delivers cost of living support for all Western Australians and draws on WA’s responsible budget management to provide further significant investments in our health system, boost housing supply, and continue WA’s transition to clean energy.
2024-25 WA Budget Overview
WEBThe 2024-25 Budget includes more than $762 million in cost of living measures to support WA households and small businesses, including record support for families. More than $3.5 billion in cost of living assistance has now been delivered since 2017. $65 million to continue WA Labor’s. affordable airfare caps for regional WA residents.
Health, mental health and COVID-19 response
WEBIn 2021-22, an additional $328 million has already been allocated to fund frontline services in the coming Budget, with a further $800 million set aside for unforeseen costs, including $240 million specifically for WA Health. The COVID-19 response to date includes $2.7 billion committed to support WA businesses and households.

WEBSince coming to ofice, the McGowan Government has increased WA Health’s annual budget significantly, up 33.4 per cent from $8.8 billion in 2016-17 to $11.8 billion in 2023-24. The Mental Health Commission’s annual budget increased by a massive 57.3 per cent, from $863 million in 2016-17 to $1.4 billion in 2023-24.
