(6 days ago) While cigarette smoking among adults has declined from 20.9% in 2005 to 11.5% in 2021, some Island Areas may have a higher percentage of cigarette smokers than the U.S. average. For example, in 2019, Guam had a 23.4% rate of adult cigarette use, while Puerto Rico had a rate of 9.6%. Guam recently enacted two bills related to tobacco use.
